Movember

I am so thrilled it is December for two reason... 1. Brian finally has to shave off his nasty 'stache. Yay! And, of course, #2. ABC Family 25 days of Christmas. Elf is on tonight. In case you were wondering.

Last night we attended a happy hour for "Movember". I think the CHK Geology group had 25 -30 people participate in the event.  I thought for sure Brian was the only one, but obviously not. I guess this is a real thing. ;)

After awhile of mingling, the ladies got together and started the judging. We gathered around the table and "checked out" the 'staches.  They all looked so good how were we to pick just one? (this statement is 100% sarcastic. They all looked terrible, gross, probably smelled, creepy- I could go on, but I won't). The men tried their best to win us over with winks, waves, compliments, etc. All but my husband, he was hiding behind a pole in the bar, sticking his head out just enough for the judges to see, and giving us the creepy wave. He did not know, but he automatically disqualified himself at that point as decided from the Head Judge (me! ha).

We decided whom ever won the ultimate title of Mr. Movember had to actually look good with a 'statche, not creepy, but look like a nice person.

And I think we did a pretty good job. Below is our winner.

Boy was he proud!

Our winner, Andy!
And the two worst "trucker"

The two beside him are representing what we call a "trucker" 'statche and they were awarded worst 'statches of the group. They were not pleased, but someone had to wear that crown and at least they can do it together.
Better luck next year, guys!

I played in on the fun too!
The stache really emphasizes  my nose. Awesome.

This was the real deal.
We had papers to prove it
AND...a mustache cookie cutter that I got to bring home.

I MUSTACHE you a question...will you donate?!

I have copied and pasted the e-mail Brian was supposed to send out a month ago,but he sent it out yesterday. Typical Brian move, but luckily for him it is not to late to donate.

Men's health is a cause I am passionate about but in order to make a difference I need your help. My commitment is to grow a moustache for the month of November and by changing my appearance, raise vital awareness and funds for men's health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.
I am asking you to help support my personal journey by making a donation. The size of the donation isn't important, every little bit helps Movember continue its funding of world-class programs.
To highlight the importance of what I am doing, take a look at these statistics:
•  1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime
•  This year 242,000 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed
•  This year 8,290 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer

If you'd like to help change these statistics, please donate to me by:
*Donating online at: http://mobro.co/brianscott99
*Writing a check payable to 'Movember', referencing my Registration ID: 4348717 and mailing it to: Movember, PO Box 2726, Venice CA 90294-2726

For more details, take a look at the Programs We Fund section on the Movember website: http://us.movember.com/about/funding-overview/
Thank you in advance for supporting my efforts to change the face of men's health.
