Our weekend...meterosexual style

On Saturday, we went with the Bones on a sunset sail at Lake Hefner. It was great! As pictured above, Brian finally got the chance to wear his Linen attire. In case you have not heard, my trainer met Brian at a birthday party. He told me during our training session that Brian was "Metrosexual". I of course STOPPED and died laughing. I told him in the midst of my laughter, that in the 10 years we have been together, no one has ever perceived Brian in that way. He then changed his story- he was just "preppy". I was dying. After training, I sent Brian a quick e-mail to update him of his "new status". He loved it. Soon I was getting text/emails about how Brian is loving that he is metro from his co-workers. He tells the people in his office, "I know this is a change for me too. It is just going to take time for me and you to get used to me being metro." Bring out the deep V-necks, Please!

The wine was called Cupcake! Yes, Please!

Friday night we headed out to the Oklahoma State fair. I would list what all Brian had, but I will just say he spent $40 on food...all fried. GROSS, but oh so good. I know most of my readers (all 5 of you) are going to be so jealous of who we saw in concert. Please brace yourself. Some of our friends had an extra VIP ticket for the MC HAMMER concert. I know, I know, I know. I am so lucky. I knew two songs and MC hammer was literally right in front of me.

Pictured below is Mark, my trainer, he is also with Logan the birthday girl!!! Mark is totally metrosexual himself; so I guess it takes one to know one?
Please notice the cookies on his plate. 8 of them to be exact. Is it odd that during training we talk about cookies, cupcakes, and Brian being metro?

My sister and baby are doing great! They are both home and I get daily picture updates. I can't wait to hold him. He is a thumb sucker just like his favorite aunt! :) I can't wait to have one!!! oh wait, did I say that out loud?

Proud aunt and uncle

He is finally here!!! I wish I could have been there to experience it in person. I have really struggled with this for the past couple days. I guess it is just part of living far away. Thankfully, my family did a great job of keeping me posted! They sent me several videos and made me feel like I was there (for a sec). I shed a few (a lot) of tears when I watched the videos. Thank God for technology. Mom and Baby are doing great.

Hudson Chase Armstrong

Kim was induced early this morning. As of noon she is still not dilated, but is starting to get some painful contractions. They say this is a good thing. Also, her blood pressure is not great, but not awful either. I wish I were there with everyone. This is when I wish I didn't live so far away. I allowed myself 30 minutes this morning to feel sorry for myself that turned into 4 hours. HAHA! I finally forced myself out for a run and I am heading to work very soon. Please keep all of them in your thoughts and hope for a great delivery and healthy baby boy and momma! I can't wait till Oct 9!!! I will finally get to see him.

Catch up!

I got a new frosting squeezer. It is made from tupperware. It is AMAZING. My boss gave it to me last Friday. It also came with her recipes for icing, beer bread, and cookies. Of course I had to make some icing. I took it to STL and we snacked on it during the weekend. Love it.

Cassie and Sean's Wedding in STL.

This weekend we attended our friends wedding it STL. It was nice to get back with all my high school buddies for the weekend. There were lots of hugs, high fives, and laughs. I must say that it's nice still have these friendships...they really do last a lifetime.

Today is Brian's birthday day. He is 2-6. Shew, he is so old. I mean he listens to NPR in the shower on his new shower radio (one of his birthday gifts.). I made a glorious dessert for his birthday. And yes, Kyle Scott, I have had 4-5 servings of it. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?!?!?!?!!!! :)

My sister Kim is back in the hospital. Her BP will not go down. They are doing a 24 hour urine test again to check her protein. She should get her results back tomorrow. If it comes back positive, they will go a head and do a c-section. She is not dilated. Little Hudson is not ready to come out yet, but her body is telling her it is ready! Please keep her in your thoughts. Her due date is October 5.

Bedtime

Bedtime has always been cool to me.

I go to bed early.

Always have, always will.

I would assume when I was 4 or 5 ( whatever age you are when bedtime is not cool) I was in bed 10 minutes before that time. It didn't bother me that I shared a bedroom with my two sisters. They were exact opposite of me. I was tucked in my twin bed, all lights on, my sisters either watching tv, on the phone, or computer. Didn't matter. It was bedtime. Ahhhh, one of my favorite times.

One of the topics of discussion at the fish fry tonight was bedtime. Of course I am proud of my 8-10 hours of sleep a night. So of course I shout out, "I'm in bed by 8-8:30 pm every night...at least on work nights." I guess that isn't normal? Then I get asked how much I work and what time I wake up. " I get up between 6:30-6:40 am. Technically, I'm only required to work 6 hours a week Mon/Wed/Fri. I normally stay till about 1pm everyday." I purposely left out that 3pm is my nap time. I mean gosh, it's not necessary for them to know my daily routine ... come home, eat lunch, crime TV, nap, dinner. It's a rough life I live... I know. :) I LOVE it and am forever grateful. Without a doubt, I'm sure I impressed everyone with my ability to get great sleep. Or they think I'm just a loser. Either way, I don't care. I am going to enjoy it as long as it last.
