We have had a fun filled weekend. We attended several cookouts, a swim party, and enjoyed the local Art festival to end the weekend. Although neither one of us is looking forward to going back to work, it is something we must do. My first day on the job is bright and early tomorrow! :) I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

A happy day.

Tomorrow, May 23, is our one year anniversary. It seems like just yesterday I was squeezing, sucking in, and sweating to get into my dress. Man how the time flys!

This past year has brought a lot of new changes for both of us. We did a lot of "big kid" things. We made the move to Oklahoma, bougth a car, and a house. All of which seemed like in the same week. Although looking back it was somewhat stressful, we made it through with ease. Our house is finally feeling more and more like a home. Our walls are not so bare anymore and the curtains add a splash of color. We still have a lot of work to do, but it's coming along.

Although Kentucky will always be our home. We have settled in rather nicely in our new home here in Oklahoma.

Our celebration for our anniversary starts today! We are going to a nice Italian restaurant this evening. Where I will try their version of Cannoli. Tomorrow we plan on making dinner and trying out a new recipe, dessert of course, from our favorite Oklahoma lady-Pioneer women. And this is where it gets really romantic. We will sit in front of the TV and watch the LOST series finale "the end". And we don't care what any of yall think about that romantic dinner. For those of you know us, and know us well, know we love a good TV show, LOTS of good food, and good company. I don't know what better way to celebrate our one year anniversary.

Brian's trip

Walking through mud!
Lehne threatened Brian ahead of time he was not allowed to throw anything (mud) at her.
Hard at work.
What is that on your face?

This past week Brian traveled to Charleston, SC for a geology field class. From what Brian told me these CHK kids really were roughing it out there. They each got their own hotel suite, rode on a boat all day, looked at sediments, drank beer, and ate tons of good food. All on CHK tab. How they ever made it through the whole week...really beats me! :)

And Charlie and I were roughing it in Oklahoma.

Brian had a great time and learned a lot. It does not surprise me that a trip like this, even though it was mostly work, he really enjoyed. And to say the least it was well deserved. These boys and girls work hard. I would go into more detail about his trip and what he learned, but I'm afraid (surprise, surprise) I'm still trying to get out of him what all they did. We know how much Brian loves giving details.

Although, I found out today Brian won 4 awards. Charlie and I are so proud of him!

The first award: GeoJock because he is athletic.

The Second award: Environmental award for picking up a balloon on the beach and disposing of it properly.

The third award: Psychic award. He guessed the water salinity and depth correctly four times.

The forth award: Scale provider award (shared with "Bone") these two always had their ruler to put on a trench for scale.

Lets rock.

Last night I had the pleasure of watching our friends Karla and Jay's baby, Santiago. I took to the rocking chair just like my mom would. After only a few minutes of rocking this was the finished product (picture above). Even though he was sound asleep I continued to rock him. I even lifted up my leg "pointed and flexed" my foot to help me rock. It was at the MOMENT I realized...I AM MY MOM. And I enjoyed every minute of it! :) He slept for over an hour for me. He had a bottle and we rocked some more. Although he didn't go to sleep he was so content and we watched tv together until his momma and daddy got back.

Brian says I can continue to babysit whenever I get baby fever. :)

Edmond, OK!

For those of you who thought Oklahoma was only famous for their destructive tornadoes, high winds, HOT summers, and flat land (wait that was me!). We do actually have some pretty impressive people lingering around here. This kid below posted this video of himself singing and playing Lady Gaga's Paparazzi song on Youtube. And no Ed, it is not Celine Dion! Little did he know how many views it would get. Well, it got so many views that Ellen flew him to LA to be on her show today. You can go HERE to watch the segment of him on the Ellen show. Amazing.

Tornado season is here.

This evening Oklahoma has been and is still being hit with tornadoes. Of course this would happen when Brian is out of town and I am by myself. Luckily for me Edmond did not get hit to bad (yet). The worst part has passed. Thank God! We had some thunder, lightening, wind, and rain. Have no fear...I was in the bathtub with my bike helmet on and pillows covering me up. And of course facebookin' it. Chatted with mom the entire time. It helped pass the time.It looks like Norman, which is south of us, has gotten hit pretty bad.

I was so scared/nervous during this time. I don't know how I will do once a tornado actually does hit close to home.

But I have survived this round of storms.

Cousin time!

This weekend my cousin, Leslie and her husband Adam, came down to Oklahoma. Leslie graduated from Mid-America University on Saturday. We are all so proud of her for finishing her degree with three little ones!

It is always nice to have family come visit, especially when you live so far away. I showed them around Oklahoma City and ate at two of my favorite restaurants--Saturn Grill and Cafe 501. Odds are that if you come to visit us we will take you there. Not only is their food great, but the desserts are even better. We all know that is the most important part of a meal. :)

Here are some of the pictures I captured during graduation day!
