Last minute trip...Go Pack!
We decided on Wednesday to take a last minute trip to Kansas City. Brian's former teammate, Tim Masthay, plays for the Green Bay Packers. He was able to score us 2 great tickets for Sundays game. Our good friend, Cassie, lives in KC. She and her family were kind enough to take us in at the last minute! It was great to catch up and reminisce about old times.
Tim would be the guy on the ground.
This was our first NFL game. It was a little more special considering we actually "knew" someone on the team. Tim did a great job, but unfortunately they did not get the "W". Maybe next time!

Gum anyone?
Brian asked me for some gum. He was wondering why it tasted like pennies and popcorn....
My gum dumped out over a week ago. Obviously, I did nothing about it.
Judge me, please! I don't care. Tastes fresh to me. ;)
The popcorn...not so much.

Sam
As most of you know, Christmas is my favorite time of year. And it is not Christmas without watching Home Alone dozens of time..."Keep the change you filthy animal". I decided to make my own wreath. I think it turned out great! I still need to add a few more bulbs to it, but I am pleased with it.
Merry Christmas!

Starry Night
Puzzles.
What not to do when picking out a puzzle for a fun stay at home date night:
Don't pick one if...
1. It has 2000 pieces.
2. It has several different variations of dark blue, light blue, blue, blue purple, blueish gray...shall I go on?
3. If you will need card table, dinning room table, and kitchen island in order to fit all of the pieces.
4. If you are expecting company and if it is a holiday.
What to expect if you do:
1. You are missing one piece to connect the outer part.
2. Your dog will sneak and eat the pieces. And that is probably where your missing piece went.
3. A lot of cussing about why they are all blue.
4. Eating dinner on the couch.
5. No happy ending...
Currently, over this puzzle.

Earthquake
Last night we felt a 5.6 earthquake. We had a smaller one the night before, but we were asleep. This must be on every geologist bucket list--experience an earthquake, right? Brian was excited. For the 30 seconds, Brian and I stared at each other, I regret not taking a picture of the smile and excitement on his face. priceless.

Busted/planes
My friend Hillari and I were talking about getting busted when we were younger.
It really never happened to me. I was the good child.
It did remind me of this one time...
Abby and Kim got busted for lying about being where they were supposed to be. Some how mom found out. They were grounded for who knows how long- a week, 2 weeks or possibly a weekend? I honestly have no clue. It did not relate to me and I did not care. Not until, somehow, it affected me.
Here is how I remember it going down:
Kim and Abby: Mom, we really want to go to Matt Jones' house tonight.
Mom: No.
This went on forever. Mind you, I am in my PJ's (9 pm-some things never change) watching TV. Ignoring this conversation until....
Mom: You can only go if AMANDA GOES.
Really? If looks could kill, there would have been dead bodies in our house right then.
Typical Amanda luck. Of course, I was such a push over, I went. And those girls owe me. I have not forgotten about that.
One other quick funny story.
Carmen and I went to Washington D.C. this past week for her 5th grade school trip. She seemed to be terrified of all the planes coming in and out of the near by airports. She was concerned they might "run" into the buildings. I assured her that was not going to happen and there was no need to worry about it. After, 3 full days of her asking me, "what will we do" "what if". I finally responded, "If a plane runs into this building we will die. There is nothing we can do about it. So, lets enjoy our trip." That shut her up. Harsh? Yes. But 70 5th graders and getting paired with the most redneck of moms just about did me in. She never asked about the planes again.
Just learning as I go...

Girls Trip NYC
Novogratz's house. They currently have a show on HGTV called, " Home By Novogratz's" One of my favorite shows.
We decided it would be fun to take a "jumping" picture. We asked a nice couple to snap a few photos. Unfortunately, he did not understand what we were going for. But, this is still cute...right?!
We made it to the TODAY show! And have no fear, we made it on TV! I think my dad may be the only one who saw us!
We made it to see The Big Piano.
Overall, we had an amazing trip. It was not your typical NYC trip where you go see all the landmarks- empire state building, statue of liberty etc. This was a true girls trip. Lots of "searching" for celebs, all the housewives of nyc, food and lots of laughs.
Brian gave me the "talk" about how rude it was of us to go to peoples homes. I have to agree that his points were all valid. But, I was in the moment and LOVING every minute of it. Don't be on reality tv and have your home address public knowledge. My only response to defend myself was, "well, this is why you were not invited on this trip."

Holiday Weekend!
Yes, he did...wear this to work.
Kim, Chase, Hudson, Mikki and Aaron came down for a long weekend. I LOVE when we have visitors. So, to all our readers (all 10 of you) please come visit. OKC weather did not disappoint. It was 105 degrees every day that they were here. One day it reached 109. It was awful. We spent most of our time at the pool or inside. I captured a few pictures from the weekend. Our camera has seen its better days and is no longer working.
I enjoyed spending time with the little huddy buddy. His aunt manda took him shopping to baby gap and got him a dancing elmo. He is getting so big. Makes me sad to know, the next time I see him, he will probably be walking. Thank goodness for videos and pictures that allow me to experience all his new milestones.
Happy birthday Charlie and America!!!!!!!!
This is Charlie right after everyone left. He was worn out. He did great with Hudson. He was a little jealous, but by the end of the trip, he was letting Hudson pet and love on him. Charlie would cry when Hudson would cry. It was funny. He destroyed several of Hudson's toys. No surprise there. Any ball is his ball. :)
Happy birthday to the big boy! 3 years old!

Scottish Wedding
We had a wonderful time at Laura and Matthew's wedding. I have posted a video of some Scottish dancing that Brian and I attempted. It was a blast. They had traditional Scottish dancing for over two hours. Most all of the American's participated in every dance. Boy were we tired and sweating. It was literally like a two hour training session.
I didn't realize how funny I look dancing. haaaaaaaaa enjoy.
