Lent

Tonight we had dinner with some friends and their kids. Gillian (pictured) asked what I was doing for lent. I told her i was giving up diet coke. Then i asked her. She responded, " I'm giving up cussing and picking up dog poo." well can i get an amen! She is too funny!

This has been a crazy long week. And leave it to me to do something (out of my control, of course!) embarrassing.  During this Thursdays art party I ran to the restroom. As I was washing my hands, I noticed  the water rising. I frantically rush over to the toilet and made downward hand motions in hopes that would help. It did not. The water started POURING over the toilet. Thankfully, I was well hydrated and it just looked like good ole toilet water on the floor. I had to disrupt class to get Hillari. Luckily, we had old towels stashed in the back and covered the bathroom floor with them. We shut the door and shamelessly had to announce no one could use the restroom. To make matters worse, I felt the need to say to some of the students "it could have been a lot worse." WHY?! Who does that? Just let it be, Amanda, just let it be.

And it does not stop there. Somehow the bathroom door got locked. So when the maintenance guys came to fix the toilet, they had to climb through the ceiling to get in... For. My. Life. (fml- for those who don't know, I thought 'fml' meant "for my life" for a long time. Apparently, it means something way worse and makes more sense. But, this is what it means to me.)

Jen, Tia, me and Mary Beth....(trouble)

I started a blog last night, but was too tired to finish it. My friend Tia, who I was with at Sundance, blogged about our experience. Although it is a slight novel, she did not miss one detail. Please head over to her blog, aMUSEing (And while you are at it, become a member of her blog and press on her advertisements daily.), to read the first part of our Cuh-Razy trip. Trust me....you want to read it! The stories of the things we did, the people we saw, and the parties we snuck into are absolutely amazing. No clue what got into me to do the things that we did, but I did and I totally ROCKED it! Best Sundance experience yet! I am not sure how we will top it next year...but I'm sure we will.
