Dallas, Texas

Over the 4th of July weekend Brian and I headed to the Lone Star State. It was the first time I had ever been in Texas. We stayed with his aunt Marsha and uncle Gary. Brian and I were so excited when we found out that they had gone to the local Mexican store and bought some fajita meat (steak and chicken). Marsha insisted that Brian and I not be shy and eat all we want. And sure enough we both ate more than anyone else. Needless to say, it was Amazing! Being that it was the 4th, Gary went with us downtown to walk around and watch the fireworks. We took the DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) light rail from near their house to downtown. With the increase in fuel prices, more people have finally started to use the public transportation, and if people of Big D can start using buses and trains, anybody can.
Saturday, we went to the 6th Floor Museum on Elm Street where JFK was shot. If you're ever in Dallas, this is a must! It was so interesting that it inspired Brian and I to watch the movie JFK again (Oliver Stone's conspiracy version). That took up most of our day. Once we got back to the Emery's, Gary took us on a driving tour of Dallas. Since the city is so spread out, driving is unfortunately the only way to view the whole city. We then ended the night going to one of their local favorite restaurants, which was Mexican! haha! Love it! We had a great time with Marsha, Gary, Anna, Eric, and Emma (the awesome dog)!
